Gathering Information About the Deployment Environment

This section provides an example checklist to help you prepare for the installation.

Environment Information Table

Resource	Description
Lightbits Repository Token	The token used to access the Lightbits software packages. To get a token, contact your Lightbits Sales team.
Subscription Name	The subscription used to deploy Lightbits.
Resource Group	The Azure resource group used to house the Lightbits resources.
Region	The region used to deploy Lightbits.
Zone(s)	The zone or zones that house the Lightbits cluster.
vNet	The network that houses the Lightbits resources.
Subnet	The subnet used for the Lightbits resources.
Access Username	The username used to SSH into the Lightbits and Ansible VMs.
Access Key	The SSH key used to SSH into the Lightbits and Ansible VMs. Alternatively, you can also use a password.
Proximity Placement Group	(Optional) The placement group used to house the Lightbits cluster and clients. Using a resource group can help to improve the performance of Lightbits volumes.
VM Size	The Lightbits target VMs used to create the Lightbits SDS cluster. Supported VMs are: Standard_L16s_v3 Standard_L32s_v3 Standard_L48s_v3 Standard_L64s_v3 Standard_L80s_v3 Standard_L16as_v3 Standard_L32as_v3 Standard_L48as_v3 Standard_L64as_v3 Standard_L80as_v3 For more information about these VM sizes - including capacity - see the Azure documentation - Lsv3 series and Azure documentation - Lasv3 series.
Cluster size	The number of VMs in the Lightbits SDS cluster. Minimum: 3, Maximum: 16.
