Lightbits Cluster Overview

Lightbits SDS architecture is based on building a cluster of storage-optimized Azure VMs (with local NVMe drives). The Lightbits software manages all nodes (each VM is a node), creating a large data store (software-based SAN solution) - over all of the NVMe devices on all of the nodes.

The Lightbits SDS cluster is built for resilience and high availability - from cluster management to data protection on the disks, and from API services to discovery. This ensures that there is no single point of failure.

The Lightbits SDS architecture delivers high-performance low latency, utilizing the local NVMe drives on the instances and the NVMe/TCP protocol between the clients and the cluster.
