Canceling an Evict Process

The evict process can be cancelled at any point by enabling the server. This will stop the migration process, Note that some of the volumes that finished the migration process will remain on the destination nodes and volumes that did not finish the migration process will remain on the source nodes (the evicted server). If there is a need and the dynamic rebalancing algorithm detects that the data is not balanced correctly in the cluster, the cluster's dynamic rebalance process will rebalance the data between the nodes in the cluster in the background without impacting data availability.

The server can also be enabled if the evict process is completed and the server is disabled. In this case, the server will join back into the cluster empty (as all data was evicted), and the dynamic rebalancing algorithm will rebalance the data if needed.

Once the server is back to enabled state, the nodes on the server should return to active state too.

Only a server that is in "Disabling" or "Disabled" status can be enabled.

  1. Once the server is triggered to be enabled, the server's state will change to 'Enabling'.

  2. The eviction process will stop and the server will move to Enabled state.

  3. Events:

    1. Disable server:

      1. ServerEnabledOperation- Initiated / completed / FailedToComplete.
    2. Evict process:

      1. ServerEvictionAborted- Initiated / completed.
