Version 0.7.0
Release Date
December 2021
New Features
- Improved vSphere integration.
- No longer required to provide an SSH username and password for Lightbits servers, or for ESXi hosts.
- Simplified workflow for creation of the VMFS Datastore. Optional creation via right-click on the data center, cluster, or ESXi host.
- Solved: Potential loss of the primary path to the Lightbits NVMe controller, when Lightbits dynamic-rebalance is enabled.
- vSphere SDK used for provisioning NVMe/TCP storage to the ESXi host.
- Enhanced user navigation from Lightbits volume to Datastore, and vice versa.
Known Issues
- The VCP plugin supports autonomous attach and detach of ESXi hosts to Lightbits nodes, as Lightbits nodes or ESXi hosts become available. The VCP plugin also handles the remediation of any attachment failures between Lightbits nodes and ESXi hosts. This periodic logic requires the configuration of a username and password of a vSphere user with adequate permissions. If that user’s credentials are changed, a notification will be shown - but only when accessing the plugin UI (rather than at the time of detection of the mismatch).
- Sporadic “Can’t find hardware.systemInfo.qualifiedName for Host” errors, which can be resolved by rebooting the ESXi host. These can fail volume attach or Datastore creation.
- Unregistering the plugin from vCenter uses the credentials provided at the time of registration. If the same credentials exist, the correct vCenter should be selected and then the “Unregister” button should be clicked. If the credentials were then changed, the “Unregister” button is not available. An admin should first select the action to “Remove”vCenter from the admin portal UI, and then re-add it with the updated credentials.
